Sights
While traveling around Prague on the Hop on-Hop off bus you will surely stop over at the country's main sight - the legendary Prague Castle, which is surrounded by impregnable ramparts! Stunning silhouette of the powerful Gothic towers surrounded by a dense ring of the Royal Palace located at their bottom is what you can see directly from the bus window. Be sure to go around all the corners of the Prague Castle, visit the St. Vitus Cathedral, which is one of the best examples of buildings decorated in Gothic style and located in Europe, walk around the Golden Lane and, of course, enjoy the panoramic views at numerous orange roofs. After getting down from the back of the Prague Castle to the Mala Strana you will find yourself on another bus stop.
Stopover and walk around the Strahov stadium will be no less interesting. It is one of the most famous stadiums in Europe and it impresses with the largest field in the world. Many Czechoslovak spartakiads were carried out on Strahov stadium. Even the legendary Rolling Stones played a concert there in 1990 immediately after the fall of the communist regime. The fate of the ambitious "collision of Prague", which impresses with its size and unusual stunning design, remains unknown. See the bygone era with your own eyes before it’s too late! Soon there may be nothing left of the stadium.
Among the many interesting places to which you can get on the Hop on-Hop off bus we shall also mention the Kampa island located near the Charles bridge. This is a real island, which on one side borders with the waters of the Vltava River and on the other side it borders with Čertovka canal. Once extensive and luxurious gardens were here and even masons lived here guarding the Charles bridge, but now you can see a very cozy park there; there are many cafes nowadays, local celebrities from the world of art often meet in on of them; you can also visit restaurants and even museums there. Be sure to have a rest in the park on the Kampa island, see how the wheels of the watermill move and if you have a prying glance then you may see the water spirit and you shall definitely go for a walk on the other side of the river!
